Reference rates only — not live. For actual transactions and pricing, use live FX rates from your bank or a service like Wise / OANDA. Rates here are approximate snapshots updated periodically.

About this tool

Quick currency conversion for ecommerce pricing decisions, pulled from reference rates baked into the tool. Not real-time (live API call would require server) but good enough for pricing planning and one-off conversions.

When to use this vs a live FX API

This is a planning tool with static reference rates — good enough for ecommerce pricing modelling, contract estimation and one-off conversions where exact live rates aren't critical. For real transactions, use your bank's rate or a service like Wise, OANDA or XE that updates intraday.

For ecommerce pricing decisions

Converting USD prices straight to local currency at FX rates rarely produces good local prices. A $30 product converted to ₹2,500 in India looks expensive — local competitors are at ₹1,000. Use our PPP Pricing Localiser to get prices that reflect local purchasing power, not just FX rates.

Frequently asked questions

Are these rates live? +

No, they're static reference rates baked into the tool. Good for pricing planning, estimation, and one-off conversions where exact intraday rates don't matter. For actual money movement or invoicing, use live rates from your bank or a service like Wise / OANDA.

How often are the reference rates updated? +

Periodically, typically when we ship registry updates. Rates between major currencies (USD/EUR/GBP/JPY) move ~3-5% in a typical year, so these are accurate enough for planning purposes but won't track day-to-day FX moves.

Can I use this to set local prices on my store? +

FX-converted prices are a starting point, not a final answer. For international pricing, also factor in purchasing power (use our PPP Pricing Localiser), local VAT/GST, and competitive landscape. A $30 product at FX is often the wrong $-equivalent in India or Brazil.

Why do some currencies show huge numbers (IDR, VND)? +

Indonesian Rupiah and Vietnamese Dong have very small per-unit value (1 USD ≈ 15,800 IDR). Local pricing typically rounds to thousands. Doesn't affect anything; just a visual quirk of those currencies.
