Drop this into the page that actually shows these FAQs to users. The page must contain the same Q&A content visibly — Google penalises schema that doesn't match the rendered content.

About this tool

FAQ schema lets your support, product or pricing page show up as an expandable list directly in the search results. This generator builds the JSON-LD for you, add as many Q&A pairs as you need, then copy and paste into a script tag on the page.

When to use FAQ schema

  • • Product pages — sizing, materials, care, shipping questions
  • • Support / help center pages
  • • Pricing pages — billing, refunds, trials
  • • Category pages — what-is, how-do-I overview questions
  • • Blog posts — frequently-asked variants of the post topic

Critical: match the visible content

Google requires that the questions and answers in your schema appear visibly on the page. An accordion, tabs, or a plain list all work — but content hidden from users will earn a manual action and lose all rich results.

Frequently asked questions

Where should I put FAQ schema? +

On pages where the same Q&A is actually visible to users, product, pricing, support, category and blog pages most commonly. Google penalises schema that doesn't match rendered content, so don't add FAQ schema to pages that don't show the answers.

How many Q&A pairs can I include? +

Google has no hard limit. Practical limit is 5-10, long FAQ lists dilute relevance and rarely all show in the rich result anyway. Pick the questions most likely to be searched.

Will FAQ rich results still show in Google? +

Yes, though Google reduced FAQ rich result frequency in 2023. They still appear regularly for non-government, non-medical, non-news sites, exactly the use case for ecommerce and SaaS support pages.

Do I need to validate the JSON-LD after copying? +

Yes, always. Paste it into Google's Rich Results Test before deploying. The generator outputs valid JSON-LD, but typos in your Q&A content (unescaped quotes, etc.) can still break validation.
